Optogenetics
Optogenetics has brought important developments in the field of neuroscience in recent years. The principle of optogenetics consists to introduce in a cell a gene which creates a photosensitive protein, which will activate when illuminated by a
particular laser wavelength. Today using fine, wide or personalized laser beams makes it possible to activate the protein of interest in a particular area of a cell or even an entire organ.
Oxxius’ expertise in the customization of these lasers and the creation of specific optical modules are suitable for this application.
Lasers specifications:
- High power stability
- High beam quality
- Fast modulation (digital TTL or integrated AOM)
- Long lifetimes
- Easy to use, lower maintenance, compact footprint
- Stable and efficient fiber coupling with SM, Pm or MM fiber
